Odile Jacottarte was born in Hermosilla, Sonora, Mexico in 1965. Today, she lives and works in Austin, Texas.
Her passion and love for art began when her daughter was young. After purchasing an art set for her daughter for Christmas, Jacottarte felt an immense desire to create.
For Jacottarte, painting has been a sort of occupational therapy. Each of her paintings captures her own feelings and interpretations of the world on canvas.
